Reminiscence

For some funny reason, last night I suddenly remembered the songs we used to sing in our primary school choior XD With my usually lousy memory, you'd think that I've forgotten all the songs! But strangely enough, I did remember, not just the tune but also the lyrics. OK not the complete lyrics, but a few verses at least =P So I came home, and searched for the lyrics. Believe it or not I still have some of the music sheets to the songs O_o

Here's one that I found at the bottom of my long-forgotten piano chair - the song Katak Lompat XD

Lompat si katak lompat
Lompatlah tinggi tinggi
Cepatlah adik cepat
Cepatlah bangun pagi pagi
Cepatlah adik cepat
Lompatlah tinggi tinggi
Cepatlah adik cepat
Cepatlah bangun pagi pagi
Kalau adik, malas lagi
Malas bangun pagi
Lalalalalalala
Lalalalalalala
Nanti kita rugi

OK I can't stop laughing while typing this!!

And then there are two other English ones, some stupid sounding song about a bird, and another called Today.

These two are for u Trix XD

Una Paloma Blanca
When the sun shines on the mountain
And the night is on the run
It's a new day
It's a new way
And I fly up to the sun

I can feel the morning sunlight
I can smell the new-mown hay
I can hear God's voice is calling
For my golden sky light way

Una paloma blanca
I'm just a bird in the sky
Una paloma blanca
Over the mountains I fly
No one can take my freedom away

Today
Well I'll be a dandy and I'll be a rover
You'll know who I am by the songs that I sing.
I'll feast at your table, I'll sleep in your clover
Who cares what tomorrow may bring?

I can't be contented with yesterday's glory
I can't live on promises winter to spring.
Today is my moment and now is my story
I'll laugh and I'll cry and I'll sing.

Today while the blossoms still cling to the vines
I'll taste your strawberries, I'll drink your sweet wines.
A million tomorrows shall all pass away
Ere I forget all the joys that are mine today.

OK there's actually more to these songs, but we did not sing the entire song, as I've just realized. Right. Reminiscing about choir songs.
