Freedom and All That

Finally, I am

21!

~.~.~

I turned 21 yesterday.
On the 21st, woohoo!
Wasn't really keen on having a huge celebration or something but my mum insisted on having a party.
So, she threw me a party yesterday.
She invited practically all my relatives in Penang, so it was REALLY crowded at my house.
Wanted to invite more friends but I ended up only inviting two cos there was just way too much people.
And they already knew my relatives from...previous parties so it was less awkward. (Yes my mum likes parties. With tons of relatives.)

How was the party?
I guess it was okay but it was all a bit of a blur to me cos I don't do crowds. Lol.
Anyway.
Spent most of our time eating.
We did (the young ones of course) manage to play a bit of Fatal Frame II before the guests had to go home.
We played it in the dark, with the doors closed and everyone...clinging on to each other for support actually.
Pretty funny situation if the adults had bothered to peek.

What next?
Presents.
Will show you pics of my presents soon lol. And my birthday cake.
Again, thanks for the presents! And the angpows.
And to Mum and Dad, thanks for the 'Key' that allows me to unlock the door to freedom.

To all those who wished me in facebook, thanks for the birthday wishes guys!
Wanted to reply in fb itself but Streamyx is messed up as usual and I'm having problems accessing the site.

Will upload some pics later (if there's anything suitable to show =P).

Now what else?
Oh yeah.
Classes at Inti begins tomorrow, sigh.
Wish me luck.

(Can't believe my 21st birthday passed by so fast!)

Going Abroad?

Music: Oasis - I'm Outta Time

Quite a few of my coursemates from last year are going to Australia soon, and some are already there actually. For studies of course, not for vacation. It kinda makes me feel blah, cos it sure looks like I'm stuck in Penang forever.

Judging from the current political situation in Malaysia, who wouldn't wanna get out of here? What with politicians from Cirque du Soleil and all that drama - what are we, Grey's Anatomy nationwide version?

So I was thinking, where would I go if I had the chance to study abroad?

North America? Nah, they have their own problems to deal with. Pride comes before a fall, always remember that. Heck, that should be a mantra to all aspiring politicians!

Australia? Well I guess it's okay, as long as I don't get burnt to death. Then again I might. Besides, I'm not really an Australia fan. And no I'm not talking about the movie!

UK/Europe? This seems to be the best choice for me, I think? It has more variety, and who knows, I might even run into some interesting...celebrities (not the Hollywood ones, more of uh, ya know, in terms of music XD)

Or maybe even....

Japan!
Hell yeah. Which anime freak would give up the chance to go to Japan huh? XD Then again, I'll have to learn Japanese for real. But that's a good thing, so Japan it is! My ultimate destination =P

Or maybe Egypt (pyramids!). Antartica/Arctic? (polar bears and penquins!) Bahahaha who am I kidding.

Speaking of foreign languages, have I mentioned how much I hate mandarin speaking asses? And by that, I mean them who usually speak Mandarin, but they do understand and speak other languages. YET they insist on conversing in Mandarin (not that they're actually interested in conversing with you) even after you've expressly MENTIONED that you CAN'T really understand the bloody language. What gives? Are you trying to be absolute bitch just cos you're incredibly capable of speaking MANDARIN and I can't?

I really should speak JAPANESE to every mandarin speaking bitch I run into. After I learn that language anyway.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Ahem *clears throat*

Woke up at 11 something today.

Got ready and stuff =P

Met up with Trix for lunch at Nandos (Queensbay).

Watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button after that.

Long movie.

Interesting story, but the movie itself was kinda boring.

Note to self; never watch Oscar/Golden Globe nominated stuff in the cinema.

To those who are planning to watch it: be prepared to sit in the freezing cinema for what seems to be eternity. Unless if you're into that kind of movies to begin with.

I have never been a Brad Pitt fan, but watching Benjamin Button kinda makes me appreciate his...fine looks XD
(who wouldn't after seeing him as an old man for at least hour??)

At one point of the movie, they were actually showing him (Brad) off. Posing on the yacht (he did look darn good though *blinks rapidly*), riding his bike, and just...posing in general.

Awesome makeup/effects though.

Politics/Music

Music: Radiohead - House of Cards

I was going to blog about something important that is still ongoing in Malaysia, but then I changed my mind. It's just too annoying for me to even say few words about it so let's talk about the next most interesting thing that happened today.

And that would be the 2009 Grammy Awards.

So anyway, did anyone else watch it? I've never been that big a fan of the Grammys but I still watch it for fun every year. Although it's not really a 'fun' show to watch, honestly speaking. Too much talking, and too many unheard of nominees. I mean, Robert Plant and Allison Strauss? I do know who they are but they're not exactly household names, so them winning anything at all is just a bit...bleh. And I can't give an honest opinion on their win because I've never heard their songs before. Then again my opinion doesn't matter XD

And talk about sucking up to Coldplay. First of all, their album isn't that great even if they sold a lot of it. But I guess Viva La Vida deserves the Song of the Year award though personally I'm seriously sick of that song!

Okay forget Coldplay for now (great live performance of Lost! though).

Congrats to Adele for winning Best New Artist. She deserves it even though I prefer Duffy. There can only be one winner after all. Thank God the Jonas Brothers didn't win, I actually thought they might since they're...popular among the tweens XD

Hmmm didn't really pay attention to the other awards so I'm not really sure who won what. Not that I finished watching the show lol.

I did see quite a few of the performances, starting with Coldplay. Quite a good performance I'd say. Next up was Miley Cyrus with Taylor Swift, and if you really want my honest opinion...well, that was one boring performance. Awful combo =P Kid Rock, Sugarland (I don't know, and I don't care who they are), Radiohead (now that was one interesting performance!), Paul McCartney + Foo Fighters, Estelle and Kanye West, Kanye West + Jayz + Lil Wayne + M.I.A. (freaking hell, she was due to give birth today and yet she was performing!) + Someone-Else-I-Can't-Place, Carrie Underwood and um. Yeah. I think those are the only performances I saw.

Oh and does anyone know about the pre-Grammys incident with Rihanna and Chris Brown? Apparently Chris assaulted Rihanna yesterday and that was why U2 replaced Rihanna as the opening act. (To Trix: I know you're a fan of Chris Brown and Rihanna so...yikes)

February

Music: Duffy - Rain On Your Parade

Right, it's February already.

Can't believe CNY is - almost - ending.

Can't believe I wasted four months doing nothing until now XD

Going back to Inti for enrolment tomorrow, and also returning to New Zealand Naturals. All in one day. What a coincidence.

Classes start on the 23rd, so I have about like, (23 - 5...?) days left to officially work for NZN, and after that I might continue working. Extra money won't hurt =P But I guess that depends on my schedule? Ah well, we'll see.

Anyway, it's a good thing I'm going back to work cos I have been spending - too - much time with Balthier and co. I think right now I'm more obsessed with it than Becky?

I spent the last two days watching all sorts of videos for FF12 and there are some people who had wasted 500+ hours playing the freaking game. Unbelievable, seriously!

Some even completed the bestiary, and that includes all the rare monsters (they're NOT easy to find!).

And you know what, it's really tough to get some of the ultimate weapons. Mostly it depends on pure luck, and I'm just horribly unlucky @_@

FF12 - a game that is too addictive. Stay away from it if you don't have the patience or time to play it!

Creepiest FF Dungeons
The underwater world of FF7 - I don't know why, but I hate that place! It's just downright creepy @_@
Lunatic Pandora of FF8 - Okay, the place itself is not that bad, but the bgm is horribly disturbing!
Edit: Via Infinito of FFX-2 - 100 floors!! FOr 100% completion! Crazy =___="
The Great Crystal & The Umbra/Penumbra floors of the Pharos of Ridorana - FFXII fans...I think you know how I feel!
