So Long, Farewell 2008

Music: Duffy - Serious

I have never been good at handling year-ends. Everything just seems so...final. I mean, it feels like just yesterday I was composing the end-of-the-year speech (uh...blog post) for 2007. Time really does fly, at the speed of sound too, it seems.

So what happened in 2008?

  • I finally travelled out of Malaysia this year! It's not exactly Europe or the US of A, but it is somewhere further than 1000km (I assume? I'm not really good with geography lol). Hong Kong; that's the far-off place I visited back in April (my God, it's been 8 months since I went there!). And thanks to that, I've gone to at least ONE Disneyland in this lifetime.
  • Ah yes, college (or Uni? Uh, I'm not very sure haha =P). Well, life at INTI turned out better than I had expected. I have to admit, initially I was really skeptical about the whole thing (where and what I'll be studying), but in the end it was all right.
  • Since we're on the subject of education, I swear to myself I'll try my absolute best at everything I do for my second year. The usual goals of excelling in studies, paying more attention in classes, and so forth. Need to be more proactive and serious, and all that. No more slacking! (Hah, as if that'll ever happen lol).
  • Remember when I blogged about wanting to continue piano lessons and stuff, way back in early 2008? Well, I haven't exactly kickstarted a fabulous music career or anything, but at least I've touched the piano...a little anyway. It's better than nothing right? One small step could lead to something really big in the near future! *wishful thinking*
    ...

    Oh who am I kidding.
  • 2008 was a good year for music. Most of my favourite (or non-favourite) bands/singers released new albums, and even American Idol was quite promising (my dear David Cook, I hope you're single and available!). Enjoyed most of songs that were playing on and off the radio. Strangely enough, the only thing I couldn't stand was Coldplay's Viva La Vida and Death and All His Friends (the best-selling album of 2008 I believe, and probably also the most anticipated) Even the name of the album's a mouthful. I don't know why, but it was just really dry, couldn't listen to the album without skipping at least 3/4 of it.
  • TV & Anime stuff: it's been quite a good year for the small screen as well, with the exception of Heroes. Let's face it, the 3rd season kinda sucks. Not that the 2nd season was any better. I gave up watching a few weeks ago. I'm still downloading the remaining episodes, but I'm not sure if I'll actually finish it off...
Most of the anime released in 2008 was interesting; Gundam 00, Code Geass R2, Tales of the Abyss, Jigoku Shoujo (I am OBSESSED with this show, and I don't even know why), etc. TVB serials too. Moonlight Resonance was an absolute joy to watch. Heartwarming, funny, annoying, frustrating...all rolled into one. Which reminds me,
somebody please lend me Gem of Life? =P
  • I hate to say this, but I think I spent too much on books this year. I've bought more than ten books, just in December alone. And guess what, books aren't cheap at all. I must have spent at least RM600 on books throughout the whole year! One crazy bibliophile I am, indeed *pokes wishlist*
Clicketh for a picture of the books I bought in 2008 XP
  • I would say something intelligent about the local/world politics and economy, but what the hell. It's just way too much, and way too ridiculous. To sum it all up, 2008 was a year of changes, both positive and negative. Hopefully, those changes will be good for the poor, ailing world and not otherwise.

More resolutions for 2009?

  1. Uh......spend less on books lol.
  2. Right. Get a job, and save up for the NDS! PSP! PS3! Wii! *more wishful thinking*
  3. Lalalala...*mind goes blank*

Bah, I'm not ambitious enough =P Forget resolutions. I'll just take whatever life throws at me and deal with it as it comes. Hopefully.

Here's a toast to Two Thousand and Eight: cheers to the happy moments, and drown your sorrows for the unhappy ones!

Now move over '08 *kicks*
'09's coming.

-x-

P.S: I was reading last year's new year post and one of my resolutions was to:

- spend more money on books!! (bibliophiling away lol)

Bahahahaha! I succeeded in achieving one of the resolutions at least (not a very good one but what the hell I don't care XD)

Only By The Night

Music: Snow Patrol - Set Down Your Glass

Kings of Leon
Only By The Night Okay, I'm officially in love with this album now =P
Kings of Leon is okay and all but I've never been a fan, wasn't even aware of albums two and three. Their latest album, Only By The Night however, is really good (in my own opinion anyway). Downloaded the album almost three months ago, when they released it back in September but had only really listened to it recently.

Track Listing:

1. Closer
2. Crawl
3. Sex on Fire
4. Use Somebody
5. Manhattan
6. Revelry
7. 17
8. Notion
9. I Want You
10. Be Somebody
11. Cold Desert

Recommended - Crawl, Revelry, 17, I Want You, Be Somebody. (9.0/10)

Definitely my favourite album released this year. I don't think anyone really expected them to do this well (since they're not exactly household names unlike the over-rated Coldplay), but they did anyway. So congrats, you've found a new fan in me! Lol. ♥

A Hundred Million Suns - Snow Patrol

Track Listing:

1. If There's a Rocket Tie Me to It
2. Crack the Shutters
3. Take Back the City
4. Lifeboats
5. The Golden Floor
6. Please Just Take These Photos from My Hands
7. Set Down Your Glass
8. The Planets Bend Between Us
9. Engines
10. Disaster Button
11. The Lightning Strike -
{What If This Storm Ends?}
{Sunlight Through the Flags}
{Daybreak}

Recommended - Lifeboats, The Golden Floor, Set Down Your Glass, Engines. (7.0/10)

I'm not really a Snow Patrol fan either, but I thought I'd give this album a try. Um, what can I say, I think their songs are okay in general but...everything sounds almost exactly the same. There's hardly any variety. I guess only Snow Patrol fans will appreciate this? But you know what, I think this is better than Viva La Vida anyway, so...yeah. ♣

KL Update 3

Was suppose to post this a few days ago but sigh, I got really lazy =P

Anyway, here are some pictures I took in KL (only a few, it takes ages to upload even one picture!):

In Lot 10, I think.

Colmar Village, Bukit Tinggi

Mum and I, in Colmar Village

Swans in Colmar. Don't they look lovely

Pavillion

The decoration at 1 Utama.

(I just realized that I have forgotten to take pictures with people I met in KL lol =P)

There's more in my phone, will upload that later.

~.~

Becky darling, thank you for Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories! Saves me the trouble from playing the Japanese one (which I couldn't understand at all).

It's a bit pesky to play, and quite tough (t's bad enough on Standard mode, let alone Proud!). Them stupid cards. Oh well, I hope I have the...stamina to finish off the game (I wanna play as Riku!!!).

Also, if anyone's interested, check out episodes 11 and 12 of Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae. The whole season has been pretty odd and hilariuos, but those two episodes are actually really good O.o

KL Update 2

I'm gonna split this into several posts so it won't be that much of a pain to read.

Day 3
Initially, we had planned to go to 1U or something but my other uncle (earlier one was Uncle H, this one is Uncle R =P) surprised us in the morning; he came over with my aunt, Auntie R (yes, their names begin with the letter R! How sweet right! =D) and took us to Berjaya Hills instead.

Clickity Click

Berjaya Hills is this resort in Bukit Tinggi, Pahang. Really awesome place. For more info click on that link! There's a French village called Colmar Tropicale (based on the real thing in France) and a Japanese Garden with a tea house and spa. The scenery there is absolutely amazing, so if you've never been there before please take some time off and just go XD It's all scenery, and even if you don't like that kind of stuff... well you should still check it out anyway XD

Went back to KL after a whole day of travelling up and down the hills, and had dinner at The Ship again. Lol. I know, kinda stupid but it was raining quite heavily and we wanted to avoid Jalan Alor at all costs @_@ Wanted to go to Pavillion after dinner but the rain was just terrible. Spent all night in the hotel instead, and I ended up watching football (Liverpool vs Arsenal). Bahahaha I'm the only football freak in my family, and we don't have the sports channel at home, so that one night wasn't ruined =P (for me anyway)

Day 4
Morning: Pavillion
Afternoon: 1 Utama

Went to Pavillion in the morning. Nice place, but the stuff there is just...wow @_@ Even so, my mum managed to get some clothes from Parkson. It was actually cheaper than the stuff in the Parkson in Gurney Plaza. I got some books at Times too, more 3 for 2 thingys. Sigh, Times and MPH. Copycats of Borders. Can't you come up with your own marketing strategies?? Lol.

And of all people, guess who I ran into there....Haan-Ming! I didn't even know that she was in KL, so that was one freakishly amazing coincidence. Just amazing.

After lunch, Uncle H took us to 1 Utama. Met up with Chris there, FINALLY. Was actually suppose to meet her on the first day, but because of the change of plans, we had to reschedule (darn that sounds too business-like haha). Spent all day at 1U with Chris, and once again I didn't buy anything cos I just couldn't make up my mind @_@

Had this wonderful dinner in a seafood restaurant with Uncle H and my aunt. It was really delicious, and quite cheap too. Much better than the awful expensive stuff in Jalan Alor.

Was too tired to do anything after that, so we just went back to my uncle's house and stayed there for the night.

Day 5 (which is today)
Back to Penang!!!!!

~.~

I'll try to upload the pictures tomorrow, if I'm not too lazy.
Until then, good night all.
(I'm ready for bed now @_@)

KL Update 1

Right, I'm too lazy to upload pictures for now, so just bear with this pictureless post first =P

Anyway;

Day One
Arrived in KL on Friday afternoon, was suppose to stay at my uncle's house that night but unfortunately he was busy with some Christmas thingy. So, we ended up in this hotel at Jalan Dang Wangi (is that right?) instead. Not much there, just Sogo and some weird mall called Maju Junction.

Spent Friday night at Sogo and had dinner at The Ship (which is available in Penang btw).

Day Two
Moved to Royale Bintang KL from the Dang Wangi area, took a taxi there. Thank God. Was nearly dying of boredom. We had the whole day to ourselves (busy uncles. Yes, uncleS) so we decided to to go KLCC. Mum was reluctant at first, fearing jams and lack of time. Luckily she changed her mind, I was dying to go to THE Kinokuniya XD

Met up with Trix and her aunt there, and had lunch together. After that it was off to Kinokuniya *inserts skipping onion emoticon* Damn that bookstore's huge @_@ it was my first time there so...yeah. Found this book I've been searching for years, but I didn't get it cos it was quite pricey. We also found those Archie's holiday pack thingies. RM9.90 for one double digest (Usual price: RM11.90) and one single (RM7.90). Really worth it right? We just HAD to have it (haven't been avalaible in Penang for YEARS).

Met up with Nigel (from MT =P) in Kinokuniya too. Stood at the Japanese section for a while, but I didn't buy anything cos:

1. I had no idea what I wanted.
2. The PRICES!!!
3. Saw this FFXIII magazine thingy, wanted it but it costs RM199 or something like that @_@

Sooooooooooooo....I went all the way to Kinokuniya and only bought Remember Me? (30% discount!) by Sophie Kinsella. Mum was pretty ticked off cos she had expected me to buy a bunch of stuff lol.

Left KLCC around 5 something, had dinner at this stupid restaurant at Jalan Alor; a bowl of soup, a plate of vegetables and an astonishing RM35 for a plate of mediocre roast chicken, duck and pork. Total: RM90 X_X Sigh. RM2.50 for a bowl of rice too. Needless to say, my dad was absolutely pissed off. I guess we'll never go back to that place. EVER. Lol. Wandered around Bukit Bintang for the rest of the night.

Yarrr

I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

Wave Goodbye, Wish Me Well

Music: The Killers - A Dustland Fairytale

Ran out of titles (cos my brain ain't functioning anymore), so I decided to use a line from the song Human by The Killers. I'm waving goodbye, and you'll be wishing me well right? =P

Anyway, as I've mentioned before, I'm going to KL tomorrow. Won't be updating my blog till Tuesday, unless if I can find some random place to go online. Somehow. Somewhere.

....That ain't gonna happen lol.

~.~

Went to a play at the Penang Christian Centre earlier today, to support Haan-Ming who was in it. And guess what she really rocked lol, she was probably the...spiciest thing in the play, if you get what I mean =P But dear God, stage makeup is freaky, no offense XD I just couldn't look at the leading males, the makeup made them look positively scary!

Sharyl couldn't make it today, so I dragged Becky darling along (I think she really enjoyed watching you btw Haan-Ming =P) instead. Anyway, I really enjoyed the play, have fun playing the bitch for one more night tomorrow hahaha =P

Alrighty then, that's all for now, need to continue packing for tomorrow. (SIGH)

Till next time, good night and good luck!

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

I am done! I am finally done with it!

I finally finished Blood+ after letting it rot for two years! TWO YEARS!

And in less than 3 weeks too, bahahahaha!

A huge, HUGE accomplishment for me.

Also, I bought Macross Frontier. Came with the OST too, only for RM27.50, quite cheap right? Looks nice, I watched the first two episodes online and was hooked =P

Next up, Macross Frontier and Kyo Kara Maoh Season 2.
Guess I'll start on that after my KL trip? =P

(Going to KL on Friday morning, until Tuesday. Wish me luck in getting a Mokona plushie!)

Day & Age

Music: The Killers - The World We Live In

I've been listening to a lot of weird music lately, randomly downloading songs I find in the UK and US charts. Like Taylor Swift for example. I have never been a fan of her, but somehow I downloaded a few of her songs? It's not that bad actually.

I have never been a fan of The Killers either, but you know what I kinda like their new album, Day & Age.

Track Listing:

1. Losing Touch
2. Human
3. Spaceman
4. Joy Ride
5. A Dustland Fairytale
6. This Is Your Life
7. I Can't Stay
8. Neon Tiger
9. The World We Live In
10. Goodnight, Travel Well

I used to really hate 'Somebody Told Me' and 'Mr. Brightside', so I'm surprised I'm actually enjoying this.

Ratings: 8/10

Recommended: All? =P Well most of it is okay. Take a listen if you like dancey stuff.

The Things I Do When I'm Bored...

Music: May'n - Diamond Crevasse

It's been a while since I took pictures of anything at all, so I took a bunch of them today.

Had lunch in New World Park today:

Random pics of the Christmas decorations there.

Had dinner at a restaurant called 'Everyday Supreme' at this hotel called 'Red Rock Hotel' (mum's company dinner thingy lol), and I took pics of all the dishes cos I was bored (was not the only person who did that though =P):

8 dishes, not bad actually

...and the only picture of myself (and my mum) I remembered to snap =P There's more, but it wasn't taken by me...I'll have to wait lol.

OMG BISHIE ALERT

Music: Chiaki Ishikawa - Prototype

OMGWTF probably the best bishie scene ever!

Only works if you're a fan of a certain purple-haired megane bishie from Gundam 00, and if you have an open mind I guess.

Twilight

Music: Paramore - Decode

Okay guys, I'm done with Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.

To those who have no idea what I'm talking about...where have you been for the past year or so? Sleeping in a coffin? *cough* =P

Anyway, Twilight's all the rage now; it's a romance novel with a twist. Basically, the whole story is about a somewhat awkward girl who finds love in a small, gloomy town. But there's a twist there somewhere...read the book to find out, or if you hate reading, just watch the movie.

Even after reading the book, I still don't get the hype about it. I mean, it's an okay book, miles better than let's say, Shadowmancer or Eragon, but it's nowhere near phenomenal. The best thing about the book is Edward Cullen, no doubt. The adjectives used to describe him is just...wow. It'll make every female who reads the book swoon and hyperventilate, including me *blushes*

(No way I approve of Robert Pattinson as Edward in the movie! He's just not pretty/handsome/manly enough...)

Although I did enjoy the book, I still have about a million and one complaints about it.

Number 1: The heroine, Bella Swan. Good grief, she's just so...I don't know, silly somehow. I don't really dislike her or anything, but I'm definitely not a fan. Come on Edward, you can do so much better lol.

Number 2: The pace of the book. Spent way too much time describing Bella's daily life. I get it, she sucks at sports. It's completely unnecessary to guide me through her lack of aptitude for volleyball, badminton, baseball, and God knows what else!

Number 3: Bella's attitude towards her peers. If I were to behave like her in real life...I guess sooner or later someone will slap me lol. As opposed to everyone asking me out to a dance or something *rolls eyes* Unbelievable.

Number 4: The 'action' happens only in the last 50 pages or so. The rest of it is used to describe Bella's mundane life O.o Sigh. Still, it's not as bad as Eragon's journey through somewhere I can't remember...lasted for 3/4 of that book I think @_@

There's more, but I'm too lazy to construct proper sentences for my thoughts...

Now working on New Moon, the second book in the series. So far so...dull. You're right Mandy, it's a bit boring and I'm only in the second chapter!

I wiki-ed the last two books, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn for a brief summary because I have absolutely no intention to read them. I must say, the ending for the whole thing is just...lame. Could have been so much better, you know? For Breaking Dawn, the book is divided into three parts, which reminds me a little of the way the 'Night Watch' series by Sergei Lukyanenko is presented. Three intertwining stories in one book...the plot somehow reminds me of the plot for 'The Twilight Watch' too...hmmmmm.

If you have not read those two books, feel free to wiki it too.

Also, Stephenie Meyer was working on another book for the series, Midnight Sun, which is basically the retelling of Twilight in Edward's point of view instead, but something happened so she had to put it on hold. If you were to ask my opinion...just leave it alone Miss Meyer O.O Twilight's a pretty good novel by itself, so...

New Month + New Layout

Music: Paramore - Decode

Sigh.
Hard to believe it's already December.
But anyway, new layout!
What do you think of it? I got bored of the old one, wanted to try something different so here we go.
As to why Yuuko, well I think she rocks! =P Besides, I'm still kinda addicted to xxxHolic now bahaha.

Went to Queensbay today, Asimo was there.
Who or what's Asimo?
To quote Wikipedia,

"ASIMO is a humanoid robot created by Honda Motor Company."

Too bad. Asimo ain't no Gundam, or anything funky from any other sci-fi dimensions.

What can he do?
He can run up to 6km/h. Fast? HELL no. He can dance a little. Talk a little. And that's it.
We humans have a long, LONG way to go before we go around piloting gundam-like robots.
Still, not all that bad I suppose. At least we're getting somewhere.

Other than that, Borders is having a Twilight promotion thingy, where you can get Twilight + New Moon for RM49.90.

Naturally I bought it. I mean, they usually sell just one for like RM30+ so it's quite a good offer, I think?

I remember blogging about collecting Samurai Deeper Kyo sometime last year.
Well finally, the last volume of Samurai Deeper Kyo is out. Phew, that's one collection down.

Final words for November: Happy holidays everyone!

New addition to my list...

Updated Idiot List (28/11/2008):

Anime Spree

Music: The Killers - Human

I guess you'll all think I'm nuts, cos I finished xxxHolic, xxxHolic Kei and Code Geass R2 within 3 days bahahaha!

(I usually watch stuff reeeeeally slow)

Sorry to say this, but Code Geass actually bored me to tears...other than the initial episodes and the last few. Everything else in between is just...too complicated and silly. Everyone is fighting for all the wrong reasons! The twists and turns are absolutely mind-boggling too @_@

xxxHolic is quite interesting, but a little too slow-paced. Thank God it's hilarious to watch, makes it a lot more bearable. It's really weird to hear Jun Fukuyama as Watanuki in xxxHolic, and then as Lelouch in Code Geass. Major difference! And Watanuki even did a Lelouch pose in the 2nd episode of Kei lol.

A much better series than Tsubasa Chronicles. Now Tsubasa...the twists and turns in it are worse than those in Code Geass! Insanity, I tell you.

Ah seiyuus and voice actors. They rock with their versatility!

Updated Idiot List (27/11/2008):

1. Suzaku Kururugi (Code Geass) - Still the dumbest character ever!
2. Shion Uzuki (Xenosaga) - OMG. Can't tell you how much I dislike this chick.
3. Rikuson Hakugen (Koutetsu Sangokushi)
4. Shuichi Shindo (Gravitation)
5. Lacus Clyne (Gundam Seed/Destiny)
6. Saji Crossroad (Gundam 00) - Another self-righteous idiot.
7. Cloud (FF7)
8. Shinn Asuka (GSD)
9. Lunamaria and Meyrin Hawke (GSD)
10. Peter Petrelli (Heroes) - From Hero, to ZERO. And I don't mean the Code Geass Zero!

Note all the S's in the list? Unbelievable!

Tagged Again

Music: Evanescence - The Last Song I'm Wasting On You

I'm doing this tag to ease my boredom, and to get over my 'unemployed again' status lol.

RULES:

1. People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs and replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.

2. Tag 6 people to do this quiz and those who are tagged cannot refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by and cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by continue this game by sending it to other people.

1. If your lover betrayed you, what will your reaction be? take revenge?
Honestly speaking, I don't know. First reaction, cry my heart out. Next...betray him by *censored*! Mwahahaha!

2. If you can have a dream to come true, what would it be?
To have strange powers like them heroes mwahahaha! (yeah yeah, I'm nuts)

3. What is the criteria for your dream lover?
Tall, dark and handsome? BWAHAHAHAHA!

4. Do you think that the importance of excelling in studies is over-rated? Do grades guarantee success? OR is good grades a must in the competitive society that we are currently living in?
Hell yeah, it's way over-rated. Getting straight A's in school does not guarantee you success in the future. What are grades anyway? Some rotten way to judge us poor students.

5. If you have kids (now or in the future) would you say that your kids are an investment or a responsibility or an asset?
Responsibility I guess.

6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?
Both? Lol.

7. How long do you intend to wait for someone you really love?
As long as it takes!
...but must not be too long haha.

8. If the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do?
I'll brood and cry and sob and moan and groan about it for a while, and hopefully get over it soon. But that's no easy feat.

9. Do you think the world would be better off if everyone has the same religion/ethnicity/ etc?
Why should it matter anyway? Is it so hard to accept people for who they are?

10. You see a 50 year old man entwine arms with a girl about the age of 20+ and find out they are gf/bf. What are your first thoughts?
'Interesting! Is he rich? I'm interested!' =P

11. How would you see yourself in ten years time?
Successful and rich. Bahahaha.

12. What's your fear?
That I'll be all alone in the future =( Hate that lonely feeling.

13. What's the first thing you do when you wake up?
Go back to sleep lah. Lol.

14. Would you give all in a relationship?
Yeah, I would.

15. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, who would you pick?
I don't know...tough question =/ Neither I guess? I don't think it's quite possible to be in love with two people at once but then again what do I know?

16. Would you forgive and forget no matter how horrible a thing the someone has done?
I *might* forgive, but I'll never, NEVER forget.

17.Do you prefer being single or having a relationship?
Depends.

18. If you had a terrible past would you still dwell it in and blame the world for what they have done to you or get over it?
I'm the 'dwell on it' kind of person, but I will try my best to get over it anyway =/

Coffee Experience - Epic Fail!

Ah. It didn't work out as well as I had expected.

It's not that I have a problem with the duties - my problem is with the timing of the shifts. Guess what the night shift is up til 1am officially, and 2am unofficially. Or more. Naturally, my mum will never allow that! It's crazy, honestly.

In fact, she rescued me tonight and I escaped at 11pm.
Felt horribly guilty too, and well duh, the 'whatever-smug-arrogant' look on the manager's face when he was talking to my mum (and me, and I apologized!) didn't help much either. When I was leaving, I felt really uncomfortable cos everyone else had to stay back...and now they have to do what I was suppose to do too.

How now guys?

I think I'll have to reject this...job/experience. Not because I can't stand it or anything, but because it's really unfair to everyone else around me. Very obviously they need more help at night, so what's the point of hiring someone who can't work the late shift?

And they work on rotation too, I believe. One week day shift, another week the 2nd one. I can't exactly insist on having the day shift all the time. What if two or more people insist on that as well? Who's gonna work the late shift then? Unfair to all, the management and the rest of the staff. Some people probably won't care about that as long as they get their way, but I do. I don't wanna piss people off for being uberly choosy and prissy.

I just can't bring myself to do that, I just can't. If you agree on me quitting the job, say aye!

Of Coffee and Tea

Music: Paramore - Decode

I am now temporarily employed.

Took them long enough to call back, but anyway, I now have a job at Coffee Bean. The Queensbay one of course.

Hmmmm I wonder if I'll get free coffee? Bahaha.

Unfortunately, I guess I'll be making coffee (hopefully) instead and not drinking coffee.

Who knows, I might end up as the dishwasher...forever. As opposed to, being a cashier or barista (sp?).

I start today, at 6pm (odd timing). Wish me luck!

Xenosaga III : Completed!

Music: Adele - Hometown Glory

Woohoo, a new record for me - I have completed Xenosaga III in less than 3 weeks!

In around 40 hours or so. By far the shortest game I've ever played, seriously. Hard to believe I guess? The cutscenes are ridiculously long, but luckily you can choose to skip it all (you can even skip conversations), and that's what I did.

The ending is quite sad, and is definitely the longest closing scene I've ever watched. Around 45 minutes I think, plus conversation. Well actually I didn't really watch it, I just left it on and watched something else.

Anyway, I'm glad that's over and done with.

Let's see if I can actually finish off Magna Carta now...

Enough of Mooncake

Music: Modest Mouse - Dashboard

I am finally done with Moonlight Resonance!

At least, it didn't take me that long to finish it this time.

What do I think of it?

Well. It's not so bad, but it's not as good as I thought it would be.
The ending's a little too rushed, and somewhat illogical. Why on earth were they harping on the 'Why did grandma spent 30 minutes talking to *insert evil bitch here* before she (grandma, not the bitch) died'? Completely, and absolutely irrelevant, as it proves nothing! She could have spent those 30 minutes cursing that sick bitch, couldn't she? What the hell man. Illogical.

And also, why are all the 'siblings' marrying each other? Spent more than 20 years as siblings, and suddenly they're married? With kids? Wearing almost identical glasses? Scary, really scary. They may not be blood related, but still.......stupid.

Anyway, enough about that. It was enjoyable, and I should just stop complaining lol.

~.~

Went to Gurney today with Sharyl and her sis, checked out the new wing.

It is...intimidating. Cos I don't think I can afford anything from at least half of the new shops there.

And there's no McDonald's! How can there be no McDonald's in a mall? No matter how high end it's suppose to be, McDonald's is an important outlet! Where will all the kids eat? Everything else is expensive. Darn them. They better open an outlet there soon or else!

We went there specifically for Swenson's and guess what - it's not open yet. Sigh. Nichi's not ready either. Double sigh.

La Senza and Stuff

Music: Lady Gaga - Paparazzi

Okay, so I'm suppose to be looking for a job right?

Call me a choosy brat if you must, but I don't really want any clothes related jobs. Sadly, that seems to be the only thing my mum approves of. I tried my luck at Borders, but they're not hiring anyone until mid-December. After the part time workers go back to school I guess.

I wanna buy clothes, not sell them. I've seen them workers at clothes shops. 99% of them have sour looks on their faces, they're doing nothing (especially those with only one or two workers), and...well. Other than earning money, I don't think they're doing anything else useful AT ALL. I don't wanna be that person! I mean, I feel sorry for them - now I have to feel sorry for myself? Oh God. That's a million times worse than selling ice cream, and I thought that was bad enough! Actually, that was quite fun, the only thing that bothered me was the lack of customers, and not the job itself. Have you seen Queensbay Mall on weekdays? It's like Siberia during winter - empty, desolate, lifeless.

My...uh...relative working at GAP mentioned something about shops like La Senza (lingerie shop, for those who don't know) and Topshop (is that one word or what) paying RM5 per hour or something, but you know what? Those shops are the ones with the least customers! That's like, a death sentence for me. Even I don't wanna shop there, what the hell.

I guess I'll only try my luck in those shops as a last resort. Otherwise, I don't think I can stand it, even if I get paid more! Too bad I'm not money-faced enough lol.

Need to look elsewhere. Some office thingy maybe...I'd rather be typing letters, writing emails, or filing stuff, or anything at all. And at least I get to sit down! =(

I'm On A Roll!

Music: Random Songs from Xenosaga III OST

Probably, you guys would think that I'm nuts but guess what, I'm almost done with Xenosaga III! Despite its slowness, endless conversations and cutscenes. Just one more chapter, and I'm done!

Congratulate me? =P I should be able to finish this game by next week or so *crosses fingers* If I don't suddenly give up. Again. Haha.

Other than that, what else have I been doing?

Uh...well Season 1 of Britain's Next Top Model ended last week, and they just started showing the second season yesterday. So...yeah, I'm still watching the catwalks and catfights.

To everyone else having holidays now, hope you're doing something more useful than what I've been doing so far.

Random Quiz

Music: Beyonce - If I Were a Boy

Was reading Mun Cheng's blog, saw her post on quizzes, and decided to do the quiz too.

Link

Dreamy Idealist (DI)

Dreamy Idealists are very cautious and therefore often appear shy and reserved to others. They share their rich emotional life and their passionate convictions with very few people. But one would be very much mistaken to judge them to be cool and reserved. They have a pronounced inner system of values and clear, honourable principles for which they are willing to sacrifice a great deal. Joan of Arc or Sir Galahad would have been good examples of this personality type. Dreamy Idealists are always at great pains to improve the world. They can be very considerate towards others and do a lot to support them and stand up for them. They are interested in their fellow beings, attentive and generous towards them. Once their enthusiasm for an issue or person is aroused, they can become tireless fighters.

For Dreamy Idealists, practical things are not really so important. They only busy themselves with mundane everyday demands when absolutely necessary. They tend to live according to the motto “the genius controls the chaos” - which is normally the case so that they often have a very successful academic career. They are less interested in details; they prefer to look at something as a whole. This means that they still have a good overview even when things start to become hectic. However, as a result, it can occasionally happen that Dreamy Idealists overlook something important. As they are very peace-loving, they tend not to openly show their dissatisfaction or annoyance but to bottle it up. Assertiveness is not one of their strong points; they hate conflicts and competition. Dreamy Idealists prefer to motivate others with their amicable and enthusiastic nature. Whoever has them as superior will never have to complain about not being given enough praise.

As at work, Dreamy Idealists are helpful and loyal friends and partners, persons of integrity. Obligations are absolutely sacred to them. The feelings of others are important to them and they love making other people happy. They are satisfied with just a small circle of friends; their need for social contact is not very marked as they also need a lot of time to themselves. Superfluous small talk is not their thing. If one wishes to be friends with them or have a relationship with them, one would have to share their world of thought and be willing to participate in profound discussions. If you manage that you will be rewarded with an exceptionally intensive, rich partnership. Due to their high demands on themselves and others, this personality type tends however to sometimes overload the relationship with romantic and idealistic ideas to such an extent that the partner feels overtaxed or inferior. Dreamy Idealists do not fall in love head over heels but when they do fall in love they want this to be a great, eternal love.

Too many words? @_@

November Update

Music: Abba - Head Over Heels

After October's frantic-almost-everyday-blogging, I guess I'm slowing down a little in November.

Now is that a good thing or bad thing?

Anyway, it's already the fourth (technically, the fifth) day of the neverending-holidays.

So what have I been doing so far?

  • Watching Britain's Next Top Model. Kinda fun to watch, some of the girls are total bitches though.
  • Watching America's Next Top Model (Cycle 11). Not very exciting. I watched some episodes of the 10th cycle on Youtube too.
  • Trying to finish off Moonlight Resonance. A very slow progress. I've been skipping most of the scenes. Cannot stand Susanna Kwan 'Sa Yi', Bosco Wong 'Kor Kor' and Linda Chung 'Mui Mui'. Irritating trio.
  • Playing Xenosaga III on the PS2. This game, has way too much conversation. I guess I'm the only one patient enough to play this? *cough*Trix and Becky*cough*
  • Downloading Jigoku Shoujo, Gundam 00 and TOTA. I'm really taking my own sweet time to watch it though lol.

90210 premiered on Tuesday night on Star World, and I actually watched it. It's not that awful, but it's not great either. Shenae Graimes (sp?) is really pretty, but she's just not very lead-character-ish. Boring. And the guys in the show? Pfft. Even worse.

Heroes (Season 3) will start showing on Starworld, 10 - 11pm this Thursday, and although I'll be watching the show, the storyline has gotten really...strange. I don't like it =( I have this huge urge to punch Peter Petrelli again haha. If anyone is planning to watch this, please let me know?

Of Vampires & Bats

Music: ABBA - Dancing Queen

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
to all my fellow vampires and bats muhahahaha!

On top of that, it's the last day of college! Double celebration!

Also, I went to watch Mamma Mia with my mum, and it was fun to sing along and all. There was some halloween party thingy in Gurney as well, so it was kinda noisy. But cool. Some of the people were really dressed up, and I think there was some sort of a halloween canine fashion show. Clown-ified dogs everywhere. Great way to start a three-month holiday!

*throws candies*

Lack of Urgency

Music: Lady GaGa - Just Dance

In about 1 hour and 15 minutes, I'll be sitting for my Moral exam, and yet here I am blogging.

Goes to show how bored I am lol. And how much I'm studying...

Let's just say that I've been staring at my notes for the past two days, so I deserve a break right?

Anyway, the paper starts at 4pm and ends at 7pm. Why so late? Sigh. My next paper - tomorrow (Management), is at 8am so I don't have much time left to study for it tonight. And that's the subject with the most things to remember. Just great. I hope I won't screw up that paper.

To top that off, I haven't been sleeping well for the past 4 - 5 days. Not sure why. Stupid neck was aching on Monday, and last night (aka this morning) was one of those imsomniac-ish moments. Only fell asleep around 3am or so (same scenario on Tuesday morning). Hopefully I can sleep better tonight, after all one paper down, and only two more to go!

Once again, wish me luck guys!

A New Obsession!

Music: The Ting Tings - That's Not My Name

Is anyone else watching the Gem of Life? Currently showing on Astro on Demand? Cos if you're not...too bad!

The first five episodes ends tonight and I must say...I like that show! (Even though it's 82 episodes long) Better than Moonlight Resonance, the problems are a little bit more realistic, and I love three female leads anyway =D If anyone's planning on buying the DVD...tell me, I wanna borrow it lol.

The acting is better, the cast is more experienced (minus Linda Chung) and I like what the show is about - GEMS! =D Gigi Lai looks great in this show, I think. Moses Chan looks cool (yes I am a fan of his!) and it's been quite a while since Bowie Lam and Wong Hei acted in anything at all. Of course, there's Bosco Wong but for once I'm watching this show for the cast and not because of one particular actor or something.

One more thing. I forgot to mention this I think, I cut my hair about one month or so ago, but I didn't post any pics of me new hairstyle here so...

I camwhored tonight! Just to get a decent shot of my hair lol.
(Crap I think I have panda eyes @.@)

Also, a few random shots taken in Inti for the past few weeks:

Me colorful collection of highlighters! 9 colors.

Same day, random pic of Santi. I can't remember why I took it..... O_O

Random shot of some chairs opposite where we were sitting. I love the lighting!

Still the same day: Haan-Ming...studying?

Nah, she's doodling!

Random shot of Mr. Goh's Management class. Well actually Suet Nee wanted to take a pic of Mr. Goh himself but I can't zoom in on my phone so...I took this instead.

The same class, last Thursday if I'm not wrong. My stuff is all over the table =P

Inti library; taken from the back of the library.

Me, Haan-Ming.
Yesterday, after the presentation, in the library. (@Hm: Your face looks fine lah lol)

Hm, all dressed up like a lawyer LOL!

Sharyl and Hm, a few weeks ago.
Can't remember what they were trying to do...something emo I assume!

Ahem. Please take no offense, these pics are just for fun k!! =P

(Is it just me or is Streamyx really screwing up this week? It took me ages to get the links for all these pics!)

Presentation Woes - Part 2

Music: Britney Spears - Womanizer

Oh well. It's over now. And as usual, we just can't seem to get through presentations without facing any problems. SERIOUSLY! What the hell is wrong with us? *sigh*

It started off smoothly enough. Suet Nee went through her slides, I went through mine (my left shoe dislodged itself from my foot though. Caused a few laughs I guess? It was my mum's shoes so I wasn't used to it k!) and we both did okay I think. Haan-Ming went next, she was all right too. Things seemed to going well until...Santi's turn. She just totally froze. Too nervous I guess, stage-fright and all that. It was quite nerve-wrecking to see her freeze like that =( So Suet Nee and I had to help her out with her slides and...well. I'm really, truly sorry about what happened, but I guess it just...happened.

(Will we be graded for this presentation btw? Blur me, I'm not very sure.)

See?? We just can't present our stuff smoothly no matter what.

Carpe diem, people. Seize the day!

~ One hour later...

Music: Kukui - Utsusemi no Kage

Hi, it's me again.

I am...very bored. Well, actually I'm suppose to be studying but eh, why study when you can do totally random stuff like...taking random pictures and then blogging randomly.

Yeah, I know I tend to make totally random blog posts, especially when I'm bored. (It's very obvious this month. 20 posts in 23 days!)

So anyway, today's random blog post is about....my desk. Oh yes.

Back in January, my desk looked like this. Neat right?

Well now it looks like...

.
..
...
..
.

Bahahaha! Very messy (Lelouch and C.C. sis! =D)

And then we have...

I really need new shelves...

Inspired by Becky's amazing collection of anime...here's mine (updated version):

Not much of a collection. In fact, some of those belongs to Becky instead. My Blood + is somewhere downstairs.

Stuff I downloaded, as opposed to actually buying them.

Okay, that's all for now. Stay tuned for more random blogging!

(I wanted to post some random pics of Inti stuff but my phone refuses to connect to the computer so...maybe next time!)

Yours truly,

The Queen of Random Blogging
